TOeP trainee Siwan Park, and TOeP principal investigator Edmond Young have been featured by the department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at the University of Toronto for their work on a new microfluidic device called E-FLOAT that allows scientists to grow lung cells in a suspended hydrogel that mimics lung tissue. E-FLOAT is currently being used to perform various particle exposure experiments to examine the pathological effect of air pollutants on respiratory health.
